Hey there, so glad you’re here!

I dream of Senior Living as being an industry that people seek out rather than stumble upon, because it’s widely known how inclusive, diverse, and fulfilling the work is.

I dream of long-term care communities having tools and resources that are innovative, impactful and meaningful.

I dream of the people directly serving seniors having continual opportunities for growth in skill and knowledge, career advancement and self-care.

My upbringing rooted in the values of rural Nebraska, close bond with my grandparents, and career in Senior Living merged to create my commitment to making these dreams come true. That’s where Golden Gen comes in!

I had the great fortune of having nearby and very involved Grandparents. They were truly two of my very favorite people! The kind of people who make you feel like you are their whole world.

Watching my grandma’s transition into long-term care began with a lot of grief. Before too long, that transitioned into community, compassion and contentment. Why? The front-line teams who served her. They loved her well. She grew to love them. These connections inspired me to create a career that mirrored the warmth and compassion I witnessed.

Along the way, I’ve had the opportunity to have remarkable mentors and leaders to learn from and collaborate with. They’ve not only exemplified dedication to supporting and serving seniors but have also consistently nurtured my personal and professional development. They, along with the residents I’ve served, have inspired my commitment to keep elevating the way that we serve and the quality of services we provide. My heart pulls me to address the obstacles and barriers the industry faces as a whole. Every industry has them. But ours affect quality of life for seniors. Our Moms and Dads. Our Grandmas and Grandpas. The very individuals who have built our families and shaped our communities through their love, hard work, advocacy, and dedication. They deserve our unwavering support in their most vulnerable years.

When I reflect on my Grandma and residents time in long-term care, and think about the great likelihood of going through that transition with my parents, and even my children doing so with me – when it comes to the people I love, status quo just isn’t enough.

We have a lot of work to do to create a shift in the field, but we have to give it the time and attention that it deserves. And I’m dedicated to doing so! Join me?!
